Excitement filled the air this weekend in Newtown as the weekly parkruns welcomed a total of 249 participants.
Newtown parkrun, a beloved 5k community event, took place on Saturday morning at 9am, while the Hafan yr Afon junior parkrun, a 2k event for the younger runners, occurred on Sunday morning at the same time.

Among the participants, some outstanding performances were witnessed with runners achieving new personal bests and others taking on the parkrun for the first time.
Andrew Davies led the pack, finishing first with a stellar time of 18:04.
Harry Barrett closely followed with a time of 18:05, securing the second position and a new personal best.
Ollie Jones for the Maldwyn Harriers running group came in at 19:09.
Hannah Thomas impressed in the female category with a time of 19:35, securing the seventh position.
Notable mentions also go to the junior parkrun participants who displayed remarkable determination and skill.
Selina Vuli led the way with an impressive time of 7:36, securing the top spot in the junior parkrun event with Logan McBride coming in second, at 7:57 - both their first parkruns.
