Newtown and Llanllwchaiarn Town Council has officially announced the resignation of Rex Shayler from his position as Town Councillor for North Ward.
Mr. Shayler, who has been in office since November 2018, has decided to step down from his role, citing personal reasons.

Throughout his tenure, Mr. Shayler has been a dedicated and committed advocate for the residents of North Ward and the wider Newtown and Llanllwchaiarn community.
His contributions to various initiatives and projects have been invaluable in shaping the local landscape and improving the quality of life for many.
In a statement the Town Council said:
"Your town council would like to take this opportunity to extend its heartfelt thanks to Mr. Shayler for his dedication and service to the people of North Ward and the wider Newtown and Llanllwchaiarncommunity. We wish him and his family all the best in their future endeavours."
With Mr. Shayler's resignation, attention now turns to the process of filling the vacancy in North Ward.
Further information regarding the election to fill this position will be provided by the town council next week.
