Nominations have officially opened for the third term of the Welsh Youth Parliament, providing a unique platform for youth to have their voices heard on key issues affecting the community and the nation.
The Welsh Youth Parliament, comprising 60 members, allows young people between the ages of 11 and 17 to elect representatives who will champion their views and concerns to decision-makers in Wales.

This two-year term not only offers the opportunity to develop leadership and research skills but also to engage in political debates alongside Members of the Senedd.
Members of the Youth Parliament address various issues such as life skills in school, plastic waste, mental health support, and the climate crisis. Their report on these topics is presented to Welsh Government Ministers who attend meetings at the Senedd.
To be eligible, candidates must be between 11 and 17 years old, live or receive education in Wales, and submit a biography outlining their suitability for the role along with the top three issues they wish to address.
