The weekend parkruns held in Newtown witnessed remarkable performances from the participants, including setting new personal bests and welcoming first-time runners.

With a total of 226 individuals taking part, the top 20 results exemplified the dedication and enthusiasm of the Newtown community.

Leading the pack was Aled Breeze, a seasoned parkrunner from Maldwyn Harriers, who claimed the top spot with an impressive time of 17:49, achieving a personal best! Harry Barrett and Jack Copson followed closely behind, also achieving new personal bests of 17:57 and 18:34, respectively.

Notable mentions go to Ben Aaron, who joined his first parkrun and put up a fantastic performance, and Neil Gamble from Aberystwyth AC, who secured a new personal best time of 19:52.

Other participants who excelled in this week's event include Tom Rowlands, Paul Freeman, and Melissa Turnbull, all showcasing their strength and determination on the Newtown parkrun course.

Junior parkrun success

On Sunday morning, the Hafan yr Afon junior parkrun saw young talents shining brightly as they sprinted their way through the 2k course. The top 20 junior parkrun results highlighted the incredible achievements of these budding athletes.

Henry L led the junior parkrun category with a stellar performance, crossing the finish line in a swift 08:56, setting a new personal best record. Emilia K, Lottie D, and Archie E also demonstrated their speed and determination by achieving impressive results.

Among the junior participants, Thomas D stood out as a first-time runner, making a strong debut on the junior parkrun circuit.

Noteworthy accomplishments were also seen from Luna B and Declan R, who set new personal bests.
