A local man has achieved a remarkable milestone by completing his 250th parkrun.

John Funge completed his 250th parkrun on Saturday and now becomes a fully fledged member of the 250 Club and participates in the VM80-84 age group.

Mr Funge participated in his first parkrun back on on the 7th October 2017. Since then he's achieved 8 personal bests has since been an integral part of the Newtown parkrun community.

This Saturday saw a total of 203 participants taking part, with impressive performances across the board.

First back for the men was Matthew Benson with a time of 17:24, followed by Joseph Murray and Jack Copson with 17:31 and 17:57 respectively. The first female back was Hannah Thomas with a time of 20:14.
