The weekly Newtown parkrun, which welcomes participants of all ages and abilities to walk, jog, run, volunteer, or spectate, saw a competitive field this weekend.

Among the top finishers at the parkrun were Tim Davies of Maldwyn Harriers, who claimed first place with a time of 18:54, closely followed by Kyle Evison and Ollie Jones.
For the female category, Hannah Thomas took the top spot with a time of 20:09.
A separate junior parkrun is held every Sunday morning, providing young runners aged 4 to 14 with an opportunity to participate in a 2k event.
The most recent junior parkrun saw impressive performances by Tommy Pryce, Shane Jones, and Thomas Mann, among others, showcasing the emerging talent within the community.
