Residents and visitors of Newtown gathered once again for the weekly parkrun events, a community initiative that promotes health and fitness while fostering a sense of community among participants.
With a total of 255 participants, there were some outstanding performances at this week's Newtown parkrun held on Saturday.

Aled Breeze led the pack, setting an impressive time of 17:19 and achieving a new personal best. Ben Sulley followed closely, also achieving a new PB with a time of 17:26. Other notable achievements include Jack Copson, Joseph Murray, Gwern ap Rhobat, and Xander Brandon-Higgs among the top positions. The first female back this week was Louise Kitcatt with a time of 22:30, her first time competing at Newtown.
It was a special morning for many first-time parkrunners who took on the 5k challenge. Dewi Bradley marked his first parkrun with a time of 20:08, while Richard Stone, a volunteer as well, made his parkrun debut with a time of 22:05.
The Hafan yr Afon junior parkrun held on Sunday morning saw young talents showcasing their running skills. Charlie G led the junior pack with an impressive time of 08:08, setting a new personal best. Macsen J and Alfie G also stood out with their performances. The first female back was Teleri R with a time of 08:57.
