Newtown residents and visitors witnessed some impressive performances at the weekly Newtown parkrun event this morning.

The top 20 results included a mix of male and female runners across various age categories.

Leading the pack was Tim Davies from Maldwyn Harriers, who clocked an impressive time of 18:49 in the VM45-49 age group. Following closely behind was Kyle Evison in the SM20-24 category with a time of 19:10, and Ned Doubleday in the SM30-34 category at 19:14.

Noteworthy mentions also go to Phil Pugh and Jenny Evans from Maldwyn Harriers, who secured positions in the top 10. Richard Jones from Shrewsbury AC showed his strength in the VM60-64 category, finishing with a time of 20:24.

Newtown parkrun welcomes participants of all fitness levels, whether they prefer to walk, jog, run, volunteer, or simply spectate. 

For those interested in joining the next Newtown parkrun, mark your calendars for Saturday morning at 9am for a 5k community event that promises fun, fitness, and a supportive atmosphere.
