Residents and visitors of Newtown gathered once again for the weekly Newtown parkruns.
This week, a total of 289 participants took part in the 2k or 5k parkrun.

Among the top performers was Charlie Edwards, a member of the Maldwyn Harriers club, who secured the number two position with a remarkable time of 18:13, setting a new personal best. Ollie Jones and Andy Evans also demonstrated exceptional performance, finishing in the top ranks with impressive times of 18:47 and 19:11, respectively.
Noteworthy achievements include first-time runner Darren Goddard, who completed the course in 19:48, and Dewi Hyde, who achieved a new personal best of 19:59. The participants' dedication and enthusiasm were truly commendable, inspiring others to push their limits and strive for improvement.
The Hafan yr Afon junior parkrun, held every Sunday morning, saw young participants showcase their talent and determination in the 2k event. Aiden T led the pack with a stellar time of 07:12, while newcomers like Evie W and Lottie D achieved new personal bests, crossing the finish line with joy and satisfaction.
Individuals like Harvey E and Matthew T also impressed with their performances.
