In a thrilling encounter at Latham Park on Saturday, Newtown emerged victorious against Cardiff Met University FC.

With a final score of 2-0, the picturesque venue hosted a dedicated crowd of 203 passionate football fans who witnessed an impressive display of skill and determination from both teams.

The home team got off to a slow start, but the intensity picked up in the second half, resulting in two remarkable goals that secured Newtown's well-deserved triumph. Lifumpa Mwandwe set the tone for the afternoon with a clinical finish in the 49th minute.

Dominic Smith further solidified Newtown's lead in the 74th minute with a well-executed goal that left Cardiff Met University FC with a challenging deficit to overcome.

Newtown AFC's victory sees them maintain their 5th position in the league with a total of 36 points. The team's consistent performance throughout the season has solidified their standing and kept them in contention for higher honours.

Looking ahead, Newtown will face a tough test as they prepare to take on TNS on the 16th of March.
